There are often other indicators of fatigue beyond slowing pace or increasing heart rate. These psychological triggers are just as readable and predictable as physical triggers, if you learn how to read them.

The whole Breca experience was incredible, but the race was a game of two halves. The first half, till the final exit of Buttermere - where the sprint race ended - was a tough adventure race that involved some technical running and some beautiful swimming. The second half, consisting of the brutal fell run over Dale Head and the weary swim across Derwent, was more of a trial of strength. Strength of body and mind.

The time and sweat that’s required to get to the start line is as draining as the price tag; but the experience is incomparable. The Ironman brand completely took over the town of Calella for the weekend, and we felt like VIPs at the party.
